30 years ago today (May 14th, 1988), a reunited Led Zeppelin — with Jason Bonham on drums — headlined Atlantic Records 40th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden. The show also had performances by Yes, Genesis, Crosby, Stills & Nash and others.

“Misty Mountain Hop” was one of five songs Led Zeppelin played at the concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of Atlantic Records, which took place 30 years ago today. Jimmy Page shares his feelings about the song and its creation.

“Ah, I think it’s good. I think it’s really good. That’s a collaboration. That was one we wrote at Headley Grange. The guitar riff started that off. I think Jonesy came up with the chord changes for the misty mountain part – those two chords for that.”
