Deep Purple will pay tribute to their late keyboardist by releasing Celebrating Jon Lord on September 30th.

The album documents the most recent Sunflower Jam concert, an annual event to honor Lord’s music that is held at London’s Royal Albert Hall. This year’s show featured his former band, such guest stars as Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson, ex-Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman and former Jam frontman Paul Weller and a salute to Lord’s classical-rock fusion compositions featuring the Orion Orchestra, whose musical director is Paul McCartney‘s longtime touring keyboardist “Wix” Wickens.

The rock performances will be issued as a two-CD set titled Jon Lord: The Rock Legend. The classical performances will come out as a separate CD titled Jon Lord: The Composer. Royalties will benefit the Jon Lord Fellowship, which funds projects in the fight against pancreatic cancer
