RINGO: Will Tour in the Fall Too
Ringo Starr starts his 2014 tour tonight (Friday) with the All-Starr Band he put together in 2012.
Ringo, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie of Santana and Journey fame, Richard Page from Mr. Mister and drummer Gregg Bissonette get things going in Rama, Canada. After that are Canandaigua, New York on Saturday and Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Sunday. Ringo says, “I love the guys and we all get on well, and I’m trying to do anything to keep it together.” And his efforts are paying off, as he has just announced 14 new dates for October.
In addition to the tour, Ringo is continuing to work on his next album, which he’s also producing. He says, “It’s a mixed bag, as my records always are. We have the reggae track and we have the rock track and that’s how it is. It’s pop, rock, reggae.” He plans to finish it between the summer and fall legs of his tour. The summer leg ends on July 19th in Los Angeles and it starts up again on October 2nd in Tulsa, Oklahoma and runs through October 23rd in Clearwater, Florida.
