STEVEN TYLER: His Turn |
|
Steven Tyler has no apologies for his performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" last month prior to the NFL's AFC Championship Game. He tells the Associated Press, "As I said before, I put emphasis on, 'In the land of the free' and I went up. Oddly enough I hit the note, so I don't know what they are talking about. I emphasized free, which was for freedom. It was well thought out prior to. I wasn't messing with American tradition." Tyler also came under fire when he sang the national anthem at the 2001 Indianapolis 500 and changed the line "home of the brave" to "home of the Indianapolis 500." Tyler was in Indianapolis on Saturday for a live broadcast of CMT Crossroads with Carrie Underwood. Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton is ready to get to back to work on the Aerosmith album. He Tweeted last week, "Getting in shape to go back in the studio. I must be getting better -- my fingers are killing me!" This led Joe Perry to Tweet, "Tom, you still practice? Wait until you hear some of the new overdubs. Can't wait for you to get out here [to Los Angeles]." This will be Aerosmith's first album of original material since 2001's Just Push Play, and they hope to release it in the spring. |
