Tom Petty will be taking his show on the road, again. The legendary front man released his 2013 summer tour schedule that kicks off May 16th in Evansville, Ind. and makes two multiple-night residence stops at the Beacon Theater in New York City and the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. But a summer tour isn't the only thing Petty fans can look forward to in 2013. Petty recently told Rolling Stone that the band has begun recording a new album and will put a hold on recording new tracks to go on tour. Petty told RS in an interview, "I'd rather people heard the record before we perform the songs. But I also like the songs and want to play them. If they're sounding really good and I get the okay from the head office, I'll do it." While there are no hard details on an album title or release date, all signs are pointing to a hopeful 2013 release. Check out the full tour schedule below:
