JEFF BECK / ROD STEWART: What Happened?

Early last year, Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck talked about making a contemporary blues album together, but nothing came of it. In his just published autobiography, Rod, the singer explains what happened.

"Jeff went away and made some demos, and I didn't like any of them. And I went away and made some demos, and Jeff didn't like any of those... Jeff felt he'd wasted his time and we haven't spoken since."

Stewart offered a different take on Beck's demos last year, telling us, "They sounded great. I would say there's a 90-percent chance that we're gonna be making an album together." The idea of doing an album together started in April 2009 after Stewart joined his old boss on stage in Los Angeles, the first time they had performed together in 25 years.
