Van Halen performing their cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" Wednesday night in Inglewood, California.
Van Halen could be headed to their first-ever number-one album with David Lee Roth. According to industry trade publication Hits Daily Double, A Different Kind of Truth is on target to sell between 180- and 200,000 copies its first week in stores. If it beats Adele's 21 to debut at number-one, it will be their first chart topper with Roth -- although they had four with Sammy Hagar.
Among the celebrities on hand for Van Halen's "friends and family" show Wednesday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California was Slash, who tweets, "Van Halen was killer at the Forum. Eddie was brilliant. So amazing to hear and watch."
Van Halen start their tour a week from Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
