Bruce Springsteen Fills For Bono at Free NYC U2 Show

http://U2 weren’t about to let singer Bono’s cycling injuries keep them from doing a show in New York’s Times Square last night, so they called in some high-powered subs, including Bruce Springsteen.

Late yesterday afternoon, the news broke that the Irish superstars would be calling in the Boss and others to help out at their free concert to commemorate World AIDS Day. Guests filling in for the recuperating singer included Coldplay’s Chris Martin and, as embedded above, their special guest from nearby New Jersey.

Decked out in a leather jacket, black jeans and a t-shirt, Springsteen teamed up with U2 on “Where The Streets Have No Name” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” dedicating the second song to Bono and adding “be well, my friend.”
