The Today show kicked off the new year this morning by officially naming Hoda Kotb [KOT-bee] the permanent replacement for Matt Lauer.
The 53-year-old moved from the Today show’s fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford to fill in for Lauer after he was fired on November 28th. Her co-host, Savannah Guthrie, shared the news as soon as the show started. As for now, Kotb will continue to co-host the fourth hour of the show with Kathie Lee.
