• Secretariat, won the Runs for the Roses, the Black Eyed Susan’s and the Carnations otherwise known as the Triple Crown 

• Foreman beat Frazier for the heavyweight championship

• Betty Grable: December 18, 1916 – July 2, 1973 Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy noted in an interview that Grable was his inspiration for founding the Playboy empire.

• Bruce Lee: 27 November 1940 – 20 July 1973

• Jim Croce: January 10, 1943 – September 20, 1973

• Bobby Darin: May 14, 1936 – December 20, 1973 a two-time Grammy award winning singer, Oscar nominated actor and accomplished musician.

• After a successful 1972 tour the Stones went back into the studio to record Goats Head Soup.

• On it would be a song supposedly written about Mick Jagger’s affair with David Bowie’s wife Angela. 

• It would put the band in the #1 slot for the first time in 2 years.
