• MOVIES: “Shaft” “Dirty Harry” & “The Last Picture Show”.

• T.V.:  “All in the Family” “The Flip Wilson Show” and “Marcus Welby M.D.” and The Ed Sullivan Show aired its final episode.

• Mickey & Minnie move into Disney World in Orlando Florida.  

• The first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington.

• “Hot Pants” and “Moon boots” became a fad.

• Evel Knievel sets a world record and jumps 19 cars.

• The Allman Brothers Band plays their legendary concert at the Fillmore East.

 

AZ HISTORY

• The London Bridge was bought for US $2.5 million from the City of London when the bridge was replaced in 1968. The bridge was disassembled, and the marked stones were shipped to Lake Havasu City and reassembled for another US $7 million. It opened in October 1971.

• Jim Morrison (pretty young for the official "heart failure", some suggest it was the massive amount of drugs in his system)

• Duane Allman  (motorcycle crash)
