Sam Cooke (born Samuel Cook on January 22, 1931 – died December 11, 1964) Bertha Franklin, manager of the motel, told police that she shot and killed Cooke in self-defense because he had threatened her.

Ian Fleming (28 May 1908 – 12 August 1964) was a British author and journalist. Created the character of James Bond and chronicling Bond's adventures in twelve novels and nine short stories.

It would be bespectacled singer with rockabilly roots that the Fab 4 had looked to as inspiration when they were mere lads in Liverpool. 

Even Van Halen would  take it back to #1 

But in the fall of 1964 the top spot belonged to Roy Orbison
