RINGO STARR: Films Don't Come Easy
Ringo comments on the remake of Yellow Submarine.
Ringo Starr says he's disappointed that plans to remake The Beatles' animated film Yellow Submarine in 3D fell through last year. He says, "We hung out with producer, director and writer Robert Zameckis and what he did was incredible. The look of the new one was great. He did two minutes of it. Paul [McCartney] and I were with him all the way. We were there for this stage and that stage and then he got a couple of minutes together. I loved it.
"But things happened between him and Disney. The connection wasn't there. So, we said, 'Yes. Let's do it!' and then it fell apart."
Ringo and his All-Starr Band start a three-night run through the Pacific Northwest tonight (Friday) in Airway Heights, Washington, followed by Woodinville, Washington on Saturday and Troutdale, Oregon on Sunday.
