AEROSMITH: Idol Bound

Aerosmith will perform on the American Idol season finale on May 23rd. They were rumored to be performing on last year's finale of American Idol, but that never happened. This time around, they have new music to promote, so they'll play "Legendary Child," the first single from the still-unnamed album that will be out in the fall.

Guitarist Joe Perry appeared on American Idol in March to help sing "Happy Birthday" to Steven Tyler, one of the show's three judges.

Perry says the new album is "really close [to being finished]. We've started to mix [although] we have a couple of tracks left to finish up, just to put some overdubs on... The pressure for this to be what everyone hopes it's going to be is enormous, and I'm starting to feel a little bit of that heat... It's really about keeping the doors locked and finishing this up without letting any of that get to us."
