AEROSMITH: Lyric Starter?

Aerosmith producer Jack Douglas says Steven Tyler should hit up a fellow New Englander for help writing lyrics -- Stephen King. Last month, Tyler said with his role as a judge on American Idol he needed to find time to write for the new Aerosmith album. And now Douglas suggests, "If there's anyone who's going to inspire him, it'd be Stephen King. Tyler doesn't need melody -- he needs someone who's going to inspire him as a wordsmith. I don't want a guy who's just writing hits right now."

Douglas adds that Aerosmith have recorded 15 tracks with plans for at least one more. They hope to have the album out by May and to support it with a summer tour.

King is no stranger to working with musicians. He's been collaborating with John Mellencamp on the musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, which will open at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta on April 4th.
