ALICE COOPER: School's In

Alice Cooper made a surprise appearance the other night at the Paradise Valley Board of Education meeting in his Phoenix-area neighborhood, but it wasn't to perform. He was there to show his support for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, a national organization that donates instruments to under-funded school music programs. He spoke on behalf of his longtime producer, Bob Ezrin, who sits on the Foundation's board. Cooper spoke for only four minutes, but in that time he stressed the importance of music and art education in schools.

Cooper is also doing his part to help neighborhood kids as he is getting ready to open The Rock at 32nd Street Teen Center, which will provide free music and dance lessons to teenagers.
