JOE WALSH: Listen! On Your Speakers. It's Analog Man

Joe Walsh is back today with his first solo album in 20 years. Analog Man, co-produced by Walsh and Jeff Lynne, with a guest appearance by Walsh's brother-in-law, Ringo Starr, contains such songs as the title track and "Funk 50," a follow-up to "Funk 49" by the Eagles guitarist's first group, The James Gang.

Despite the title, the album isn't an entirely analog effort. Walsh says, "There's a whole new now and I decided to write about it, and it's virtual, which means it doesn't really exist. It's an illusion that a computer makes." Walsh's last album was 1992's Songs for a Dying Planet.

Walsh is in New York this week promoting the album with appearance this morning on MSNBC's Morning Joe followed by and a question-and-answer session tonight at the Apple Store on West 14th Street. On Thursday he'll put in a live performance on ABC's Good Morning America.
