Ringo Starr is headed back to toon town -- to create an original song for a new Powerpuff Girls TV special.

The track, "I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl," will serve as the theme for the one-off show, which will return the long-running cartoon to the air after an eight-year absence. Ringo will also provide the voice of a character named Fibonacci Sequins, who is described as "Townsville's most famous flamboyant mathematician."

Besides the classic Yellow Submarine, Ringo's previous visits to the animated world include stints on Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends and Courage the Cowardly Dog.
