Are You Kidding Me? ANOTHER One?

YES: Onto Second Anderson Impersonator

Yes is now on a second Jon Anderson impersonator. They've recruited Jon Davison to fill in for Benoit David when they tour New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Hawaii in April. David became sick on their European tour in December, forcing the cancelation of the last three shows, and he's yet to recover. Davison is also a bass player, having recently auditioned for the Queen Extravaganza tribute tour. And like David, he's posted videos on YouTube of him singing Yes songs for Roundabout - The American Yes Tribute. Davison is a childhood friend of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who gave him his nickname, Juano [pr: WHAHN-oh].

Anderson, a founding member of Yes, was replaced by David in 2008 after acute respiratory failure made him unable to tour. Bassist Chris Squire, unwilling to wait for Anderson to recover, saw Benoit fronting a Yes tribute band on YouTube and hired him. We reached out to Anderson yesterday to get his thoughts on this latest development, and he told us exclusively, "Unfortunately it seems they will put anyone in the band just to get on tour and make money, forsaking integrity and the legacy of the Yes name and music." Anderson resumes his solo acoustic tour on February 17th in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
