DEF LEPPARD: Collen's Charity Guitar Auction Exceeds Expectations

With less than a day to go, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen already knows he'll be raising more than $15,000 for his charity by auctioning a single guitar. His auction of “Wings," a custom Jackson PC1 guitar he's been playing throughout this summer’s Rock of Ages tour, started September 5th on eBay, and by this morning (Friday), the bidding had gone way beyond his expectations.

The winner will be announced in November, which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds from the auction are benefiting the Gerson Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Gerson Therapy, an alternative treatment for cancer and other degenerative diseases. Collen says, "We look forward to contributing to the longevity of the Gerson Institute and even more so, the longevity of life."
