CHEAP TRICK: Bun E. Was Left Behind |
|
Last March it was announced that Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos would no longer be touring with them, but that he "remains a band member." Nothing more was said and his place was taken by Rick Nielsen's son, Daxx. We caught up with Bun E. last week and he tells us that, yes, he is "still a member of the band," but he "didn't leave Cheap Trick. I kind of got left by Cheap Trick... I haven't heard from them in a couple of years and I don't anticipate hearing from them in the near future." As for ever recording with the again, he says, "When pigs fly." A spokesman for the band says they have "no comment." However, Bun E., the band's archivist, is contributing to the museum the band is planning to open in Chicago. Bun E. now drums in Candy Golde with Wilco bassist John Stirratt. He also plays in Tinted Windows as well as a blues swing band in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois. |
