Elton John will be the focus of a nearly-week-long series of specials on Britain's BBC 2 later this month. Dubbed the Bank Holiday Programmes, the shows start August 22nd and go through Monday the 27th, a day designated as a "summer bank holiday" in the U.K. That day, Sir Elton will host his own two-hour special, spinning some of his favorite music, including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Amy Winehouse.
Other shows include a full-concert broadcast of his Red Piano Show recorded at London's 02 Arena, an interview with his one-time duet partner Kiki Dee, and looks at the making of his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Album and his forays into soul music and composing for theater. Previous Bank Holiday Programmes have featured The Beatles and The Bee Gees.
