BEACH BOYS: Two-Man Version Going Forward

The pre-50th anniversary reunion version of The Beach Boys will continue touring.

After The Beach Boys wrap up their 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour later this month with two shows in London, the version of the band with Mike Love and Bruce Johnston will resume touring minus Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks. A spokesman for the Love-version of the band says, "The 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour was designed to be a set tour with a beginning and an end to mark a special 50-year milestone for the band." Love adds, "As we move on, Bruce and I look forward to performing live for Beach Boys fans everywhere.” They've already lined up some North American dates in October.

We reached out to Brian Wilson for a comment and his manager tells us he will most likely comment on it Tuesday night when the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles hosts the band for the launch of the Good Vibrations: 50 Years of The Beach Boys exhibit. Meanwhile, Wilson has posted a photo of himself on his website standing in front of a microphone with the caption, "Back to work." His manager tells us he is working on a few things, including a live DVD from the Beach Boys tour.
