BRET MICHAELS: Tony Trauma Lingers

Last March, Bret Michaels filed a lawsuit against the producers of the Tony Awards and CBS over an injury he sustained at the 2009 Tonys when he walked head first into a stage prop that was being lowered. It occurred right after he performed with the cast of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages.

The latest developments in this suit now has Tony organizers and CBS suing Rock of Ages, which is not sitting well with Michaels' attorney, Alex Weingarten. He says, "This is a desperate act. The producers of the Tony Awards and their co-defendants cannot credibly deny that they almost killed Bret while he was performing with the cast of Rock of Ages, so instead they are trying to point the finger elsewhere... It was their negligence that injured Bret, and it was then their decision to try to profit from his injuries by joking about them and playing them for ratings."

In his suit, Michaels claims that he was not given proper instructions on stage and that injury may have lead to suffering a brain hemorrhage in 2010.

Michaels took part in a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans early yesterday morning.
