PAUL McCARTNEY: On British Charity Single

Paul McCartney is part of a star-studded cast who've recorded a newly released British charity single. Along with Gerry Marsden of Gerry and the Pacemakers, Spice Girl Melanie C and contemporary star Robbie Williams, Sir Paul is on Justice Collective's cover of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." The single's proceeds go to the families of the 96 Liverpool football fans who were crushed to death during a 1989 game in Sheffield, England. The video has been posted online via London's Mirror.

In other Macca news, Sir Paul has written two of the participants in this week's Climate Change Conference in Qatar, urging a Meat-Free Monday initiative. McCartney says, "Although more and more evidence is coming to light showing how the growth of the global meat industry is having alarming environmental consequences, the impact of the livestock sector on global warming does not yet seem to have been acknowledged by the Conference of the Parties (COP)."
