THE WHO: Closing Things Out

The Who are set to close the London Olympic Games on Sunday.

The Who, George Michael and Muse will take the stage on Sunday as part of the London Olympics closing ceremony. But as for who else will play, that's anyone's guess, although there are lots of names in the rumor mill. Among them are Queen (doing "We Will Rock You"), The Rolling Stones, Ray Davies (doing "Waterloo Sunset"), Elton John, Paul Weller, The Spice Girls, Adele, Liam Gallagher, Annie Lennox, Madness, Pet Shop Boys, Kate Bush and One Direction. Queen guitarist Brian May has hinted that they may be involved, but Mick Jagger says the Stones declined as they are not in performing shape. Pink Floyd has been rumored, but only drummer Nick Mason will be on hand as he backs singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran on Floyd’s "Wish You Were Here."

While The Who will be there, they will be performing to a pre-recorded track, which Roger Daltrey says is a "fabulous ending for the Olympics... It's not a rock show. We can't do it live, we have to mime. I mean, we could do it live standing on our heads -- we've done it for 50 years..."
