The Canadian company that handles Rush's tour merchandising is suing in the U.S. to compel law enforcement to seize counterfeit T-shirts and other items. Ontario-based Showtech argues that the bootleggers are infringing on its copyrights, and that it stands to lose revenue and suffer damage to its reputation.
New Jersey attorney Jules Zalon, who represents Showtech, says, "These days bands make more money from merchandise than from concert tickets."
The U.S. leg of Rush's Clockwork Angels tour starts Friday in Manchester, New Hampshire and runs through December 2nd in Houston. They'll be in Europe next spring.
