KISS: Kitty Kat Is Hurt
Founding KISS drummer Peter Criss is upset with negative comments made about the band by Steven Tyler.
Steven Tyler was recently quoted as saying that KISS is a "comic book band." Paul Stanley pretty much let the comment roll off his shoulders, but founding KISS drummer Peter Criss says he is hurt by what Tyler said. He says when the two bands toured together in 2003, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton "treated my wife like a million bucks, [but] Joe [Perry] was a jerk. He just didn't like us, called us clowns [and] he didn't really like playing with us."
Ironically, Criss has a picture of Tyler in his book posing next to a small boy dressed like Criss' KISS character, "The Catman." Makeup to Breakup: My Life in and Out of KISS was published on Tuesday.
