DEE SNIDER: Book & Broadway

Dee Snider is not only all over TV these days, but this week he's all over bookstores. On Tuesday his autobiography, Shut Up and Give Me the Mic, was published, and he also released a new album, Dee Does Broadway, Starring Dee Snider.

Starting with the book, Snider wrote it all himself, but if you're looking for sex and drugs to go along with the rock and roll, this is not for you. He tells us, "Do you really think a heroin addict was taking notes? They can't find their penis let along a pencil to jot things down." He hopes his fans find the book to be inspirational as he has had his ups and downs in life and it hasn't all been on stage, the radio or TV.

Dee Does Broadway is a collection of 12 shows tunes that Dee says he has "rocked out these songs." Among the ones he gave this treatment to are "Cabaret," "Mack the Knife," "Whatever Lola Wants," "Luck Be a Lady" and "I Get a Kick Out of You." Joining him on the album are Cyndi Lauper, Bebe Neuwirth, Patti LuPone and his friend from Celebrity Apprentice, Clay Aiken.

Snider is on a book tour with a stop in Madison, Connecticut tonight. On Sunday he will be in New York for the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice. Snider was a contestant this season, but was fired during the April 1st telecast.
