ROGER DALTREY: A Different Kind of Tour

Roger Daltrey recently toured the U.S., but no one knew about it. In an effort to spread the word about his pet charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Daltrey visited Duke University Hospital in North Carolina and Yale University Hospital in Connecticut. He says, "Both these hospitals were interested in what we were starting at the UCLA Medical Center and wanted to find out more about what we were trying to achieve. They both agreed that someone 13 years old [in a cancer ward] would not have much in common with someone of 40... The thing that they sadly lacked were any areas where a teenager could feel psychologically comfortable, with other teens for company and the healing that comes from social interaction."
