DAVID LEE ROTH: Might as Well Herd

When David Lee Roth isn't on stage with Van Halen, there's a good chance you'll find him competing in herding competitions with his border collies Mike and Ben. Roth has posted a six-minute video of him working with the dogs and explaining exactly what they're doing with the sheep and cattle. He also says he'll soon be taking them to a competition in England. But Roth says the sheep's faces and the sound they make remind him of "old Jewish people in Miami Beach around the pool."

Roth and Van Halen start their first multiple-night stand on their new tour when they pull into New York's Madison Square Garden for shows tonight and Thursday.
