ELTON: Throat Woes Axe Shows

Elton John has scrapped his concerts in Las Vegas this weekend over what's described as a serious respiratory infection. He checked into a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday, and doctors put him on a battery of antibiotics and complete vocal rest.

Elton has issued a statement saying, "I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return in October to complete the concerts. All I can say to the fans is, 'Sorry I can't be with you.'"

Elton's next show is scheduled for June 1st in Wetzlar, Germany.
