ELTON: His Turn |
|
Elton John has written a book, but it's not a memoir. Love Is the Cure: On Life, Loss, and the End of AIDS is his personal account of the AIDS epidemic. He discusses his friendships with AIDS victims Ryan White and Freddie Mercury, along with AIDS activists such as Princess Diana and Elizabeth Taylor. He also recounts the formation of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has raised $275 million to date. Elton writes, "This is a disease that must be cured not by a miraculous vaccine, but by changing hearts and minds, and through a collective effort to break down social barriers and to build bridges of compassion." Sales from Love Is the Cure will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Look for it starting July 17th. |
