ETTA JAMES: Funeral Plans Announced

Funeral plans for singer Etta James, who died Friday of complications from leukemia, were announced yesterday. The Reverend Al Sharpton will preside over a private ceremony for immediate family and friends at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Greater Bethany Community Church City of Refuge in Gardena, California. A public viewing of her casket will take place Friday evening at the Inglewood Cemetery in Inglewood, California. The family asks that any donations be sent to the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.

Today would have been Etta's 74th birthday.
