BEATLES: Rare Album Brings More Than $20,000 in Auction

One of the rarest Beatles albums ever sold has fetched more than $20,000 in an eBay auction.

One of the rarest Beatles albums ever sold has fetched more than $20,000 in an eBay auction. The second edition of The Beatles and Frank Ifield On Stage -- the Vee-Jay release that packed early Fab Four tunes such as "Please Please Me," "Thank You Girl" and "From Me To You" alongside tunes from the British country-pop yodeler famed for "I Remember You" -- drew $22,268.88 from a still-unnamed bidder. Only around a hundred copies were made of this edition, which featured the "portrait cover," a photo-like sketch of "the boys," (clockwise from the top: Ringo, Paul, John and George) in grey suits. It was one of the final attempts by Vee-Jay to cash in, who knew they would lose their rights to manufacture any Beatles music after October 15th, 1964.
