ROD STEWART: New Rock Album Just About Done

Rod Stewart has just about completed recording his first studio album of new material in more than a decade. After dishing on his personal life to Katie Couric on Tuesday, Stewart revealed his current musical plans to Billboard on Wednesday. He says he's totally finished everything but the title track for the album, which will be called Love the Life You Live and will be released next spring. He describes it as, "Just a good, old-fashioned Rod Stewart album (with) a lot of mandolin and acoustic (guitar) and fiddles and good storytelling."

Stewart also addressed the multiple -- and as-yet unsuccessful -- attempts to reunite The Faces and placed the blame on Ronnie Wood's commitment to The Rolling Stones. Rod explains that he "can't commit to it 'cause Woody will say, 'I've got to do this for the Stones. And I'll be, 'Hang on, Ronnie -- but I gave you eight months of this year for The Faces.' He says that until The Stones pack up for good, which he doesn't think will happen anytime soon, he can't commit to The Faces. But he adds that they're "all good mates and I swear on my life it'll happen one day. We might all be using [walkers] and wheelchairs, but we'll do it."
