Van Halen's "Jump" profiled on Japanese show.

Van Halen's only number-one song, 1984's "Jump," was the subject of a Japanese documentary that aired there this week. Song to Soul featured David Lee Roth, once again wearing his "Super Mario" overalls, and Eddie and Alex Van Halen dissecting the song, along with their producer, Ted Templeman. (Original bassist Michael Anthony was not included.) The three bandmates sat down for the interview last month at Roth's Los Angeles-area home. Roth says the song "sounds both happy and sad" to him. The whole show can now be seen on the Van Halen News Desk fan site. Van Halen will tour Japan in November.
