BEATLES, BOWIE: Fashion Muses

The Beatles and David Bowie have made Time magazine's list of All-Time 100 Fashion Icons. The two acts are in the "Muses" category.

• The magazine says the Fab Four "not only were selling records, they were also selling trends, as millions of copycats adopted everything from their Cuban-heeled boots (known as Beatle boots) and their shaggy hair to their mustaches and John Lennon's signature glasses."
• And Time says, "In many ways, Bowie's looks epitomize the nature of fashion -- always at odds with the present, forever evolving."
