There is a feud in the Van Halen family, but it’s not between Alex and Eddie.
The brothers’ company, ELVH, Inc., has filed a trademark infringement suit against Kelly Van Halen, Alex’s second ex-wife. She still uses Van Halen and she’s named two companies she owns using the name, as well as attempting to trademark her name in relation to those businesses. The suit claims she is using the VH name to advance her company in the marketplace, as well as it being “confusingly similar to Plaintiff’s Van Halen Marks in sound, appearance and commercial impression.”
Her business includes the sale of children’s blankets, furniture, construction services and interior design, services that at last check the band does not provide.
Alex and Kelly divorced in 1996 after 20 years of marriage. They have two sons.
Alex married his third and current wife, Stine Schyberg, in 2000.
