PETER FRAMPTON: Reunion Set for Saturday |
|
Peter Frampton will finally be reunited with his 1954 Gibson Les Paul, the one featured on the cover of Frampton Comes Alive. The guitar was believed to have been lost forever when the cargo plane that was carrying it to a show in Panama crashed on the Caribbean island of Curacao in 1980. But it was discovered last year, although nobody seems to know where. It has been completely refurbished at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville and will make its return to the stage at New York's Beacon Theatre on Saturday night in a show that's being filmed for a DVD. Frampton says, "It will be one of those days I won't forget as long as I live." The second leg of the Frampton Comes Alive 35th anniversary tour hits Westbury, New York tomorrow night.
