David Lee Roth sends Eddie Van Halen well wishes from Japan

David Lee Roth is spending his summer in Japan sword training with Shungendo monk Sueyoshi Akeshi, but he took some time to send well wishes to his ailing Van Halen bandmate Eddie Van Halen. Roth sent a note to the Van Halen News Desk, a fan-run website, saying, "Love and support from all of us in Japan. Get well soon." The note was accompanied by Roth sitting with the monks.

Eddie just had surgery diverticulitis, an inflammation and infection of the intestines, and is home in L.A. recuperating. While in Japan, Roth had been doing some promotion for the now-cancelled Van Halen tour there in November.
