Despite reuniting to perform on Sunday night's Grammy Awards, The Beach Boys have never won a gold gramophone. Other major classic rock acts who've yet to win include The Kinks, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Queen and Lynyrd Skynyrd, along with Chuck Berry and Bob Marley. Ray Davies, the Grammy-less frontman of The Kinks, performed at record executive Clive Davis's pre-Grammy party Saturday night in Beverly Hills. Backed by The 88, he did "Days" with Elvis Costello, "All Day and All of the Night," "Waterloo Sunset" with Jackson Browne, "Celluloid Heroes," "Lola" and "You Really Got Me." |
