GREGG ALLMAN: He Truly Is the Whipping Post

Gregg Allman is getting married for the seventh time, to a 24-year-old named Shannon. She's 40 years his junior and younger than any of his children. Allman says what's different this time out is that he's "really in love." As for the need to get married again, Allman writes in his just published autobiography, My Cross to Bear, "[Life is] supposed to be you and somebody else... The thing is, I really love women. I always have. I think there's nothing more beautiful than the naked female human body. Nothing else compares to that, and that's the way it should be."

Allman split from wife number-six, Stacey, in 2009. His most famous wife was Cher in the '70s. They have one child, a son, Elijah Blue.
