Today is the 17th anniversary of the death of Jerry Garcia.
Today (Thursday) marks the 17th anniversary of the death of Grateful Dead leader and guitarist Jerry Garcia. He was in a drug rehab in California when he suffered a heart attack. Last week, founding Grateful Dead member Bob Weir staged a show in celebration of what would have been Garcia's 70th birthday (August 1st). When asked how often he thinks about his late friend, Weir says, "Quite often. He lives and breathes in me."
