Tony Bennett will be honored tomorrow in the City by the Bay to mark the 50th anniversary of his standard "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." Mayor Ed Lee, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Senator Dianne Feinstein will be on hand for the event at San Francisco's City Hall.
Joe Perry will perform Bob Dylan's "Man of Peace" -- which he covered for the Dylan tribute album Chimes of Freedom -- at Muhammad Ali's 70th birthday celebration Saturday in Las Vegas. Also on the bill are Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Slash and Sammy Hagar.
Squeeze guitarist-singer Chris Difford was clocked driving 88 miles-per-hour -- 18 miles over the speed limit -- last August in New Hampshire. He could have lost his license, but he told the judge that doing so would prevent him from working. Instead, he was fined just under $700.
Bret Michaels is re-recording Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" as a duet with country legend Loretta Lynn for his upcoming album, Get Your Rock On. The album will also feature appearances by Jimmy Buffett on a version of "Margaritaville" and Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen on the title track. |
