John Mellencamp’s son Hud made the Duke University football team as a walk-on. An accomplished boxer who did not play high school football, he will be a defensive back and wear number-17.

Longtime Marshall Tucker Band guitarist Stuart Swanlund died over the weekend from natural causes. He was 54 and the fourth member of the Tucker family to pass on following Tommy Caldwell, Toy Caldwell and George McCorkle.

Arlo Guthrie has an impersonator in the Pacific Northwest. On his website, Guthrie writes, “Now I don't mind a little help once in a while, but there is only one official version of me I can deal with at any one time. So, beware! Do not be fooled… If there's a guy offering to play a gig for you near Seattle and our schedule shows us playing in Oklahoma the day before, the gig in Seattle is probably a hoax.”
