The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Night Ranger, Billy Joel

Two of The Rolling Stones' recent archival releases, Some Girls: Live in Texas '78 and Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones: Live at the Checkerboard Lounge Chicago 1981, will be released on vinyl on Tuesday.

Elton John has chosen Matt Bissonette as his new bass player following the suicide last month of Bob Birch. Bissonette, the brother of Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band drummer Gregg Bissonette, is rehearsing with Elton's band in Los Angeles for their next tour, which starts Tuesday in Jackson, Mississippi.

Night Ranger will release a live CD-DVD collection, 24 Strings and a Drummer - Live and Acoustic, on October 22ndin celebration of the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Dawn Patrol.

Alexa Ray Joel, the daughter of Billy and ex-wife Christie Brinkley, will be working as a reporter for the online social network Julib.com during Fashion Week in New York, which begins tomorrow (Thursday).
