Former Wings guitarist Henry McCullough is in critical condition following a heart attack on Monday. Initial reports said he'd died, but his sister Rae Morrison says he's hanging in there -- although his brother and other sister have been summoned to his bedside.
Before joining Paul McCartney in 1971, McCullough was a member of Joe Cocker's band, having played with him at Woodstock. He provided the solo on McCartney's "My Love" and was a member of the band until 1973, quitting the night before they were to travel to Lagos to record Band on the Run.
McCartney is unavailable for comment.
If McCullough, who's 69, doesn't pull through, he'll be the third member of Wings to pass on following guitarist Jimmy McCulloch in 1979 and Linda McCartney in 1998.
