AEROSMITH: Here It Is

Aerosmith is back with their first new song in six years, "Legendary Child." They unveiled it last night during a live spot on the season finale of American Idol, which also included the umpteenth performance of "Walk This Way." (See American Idol recap below in the Hot Topics section.)

"Legendary Child" is now posted on their website as well as being available on iTunes. Dating back to the 1992 sessions for Get a Grip, it's the first single off their new album, Music from Another Dimension, which they'll release August 28th. It contains similarities to a few of their hits such as "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way," including part of its lyrics -- "took a big chance at the high school dance."

Music from Another Dimension is their first album of original material since 2001's Just Push Play.

Aerosmith was hoping for additional support for the new song as it will be featured in the movie G.I. Joe: Retaliation. However, instead of opening in theaters on June 29th, it has been pushed to March 29th, 2013 so it can be released in 3D.
