FOGHAT: Earl to Be Blues Hall of Famer

Foghat drummer Roger Earl will be among this year's inductees into the Blues Hall of Fame.

Foghat drummer Roger Earl will be among this year's inductees into the Blues Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place August 19th at Kenny's Castaways in New York City. Earl is the only member of the blues-based quartet, which began in England in 1971, to have been in the lineup for its entire career. Foghat had five Top 40 hits in the US between 1975 and 1980, including the Top 20 "Slow Ride."

"I'm not quite sure why I am deserving of this award, because all I have ever been is a fan of the blues and American music," says Earl. He adds that the group's late frontman, "Lonesome Dave" Peverett, is "much more deserving."
